Hypnos is a British family-run mattress and bed manufacturer. Peter Keen, our Chairman, is the fourth generation to run the business, his son, James (Chief Executive Officer), and daughter, Sarah, are the fifth generation of Keens to help run the company on a day-to-day basis. In fact Hypnos has been practising and perfecting the art of making luxury pocket spring mattresses and beds by hand since Edwardian days. With over 100 years of bed-making experience and insight into a great night’s sleep, their philosophy and commitment focuses on sustainable designs, the pursuit of perfection and the delivery of a deep, energising night’s rest, helping to fulfil dreams of a healthy and enjoyable life.

A Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II reinforces Hypnos’ reputation for service excellence and the very best of British quality. Hypnos are proud to be the only bed manufacturer to have won the National Bed Federation’s “Bed Manufacturer of the Year” three times, in 2011/12, 2014/15 and 2017/18. Hypnos also gained the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2017 and for Sustainable Development in 2020. Today, sustainability is at the heart of their business and runs through everything they do. Over the past 11 years they’ve undergone a comprehensive sustainability journey that saw them become the first carbon neutral bedmaker in the world, and more recently saw them receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.
